Enjoying The Road

Serap opened her eyes as the morning sunlight streamed into her room. Smiling, she stretched, sat up immediately and rose from her bed. It was exactly one week ago today that she had started the diet. She could not sleep all night because she was so excited about being weighed. She exactly followed the list the dietician had given her. She even went for a few walks. How beautiful she would look in her wedding dress.

She was very sure of the result she would see. “I have definitely lost at least three kilos,” she thought.

She walked into the bathroom and stood on the scales. "No!" She said. At that moment, she was very disappointed. The number she saw on the scales was not what she had expected. She could not believe it, so much so that her eyes filled with tears. “Mom, I think the scales is broken, we need to get it fixed right away.” She shouted at her mother. Her mother said, “Daughter, that's the new scales you bought, it's not broken, do not worry. Everything you see is true.” She replied. She did not like what her mother said about the scales. Serap was upset that the scales was not broken and she did not achieve the weight loss she expected.

 

Every benefit we want to achieve, starts with a difficulty.

Were all these efforts in vain? How could it be? How could she only lose half a kilo when she had paid so much attention to everything? Was not it in vain that she stayed hungry all the week and even gave up desserts? But when you start a new business, you do not get the results you want straight away. It takes some time. That's a difficult situation for people. However, life demands patience, and whatever she does, it expects her to keep going without getting tired, without giving up, without complaining and without feeling ashamed even if she fails.

No matter what happens, people should be able to carry on.

How often does a baby fall down and get up again while going from crawling to walking? Every time he falls down, he giggles and makes everyone around him burst out laughing. How many pages of straight and curved lines does a child draw in their notebook before he learns to read and write? Even if his fingers hurt, he smiles at the end of every page. Even if a child falls off his bike and his knee bleeds, would not he get up again and get back on? Does not a person who has just started driving a car keep going, no matter how many times they stop the car? Just like a young girl does not get mad at the kitchen when she burns her first meal, a mother does not give up when she can not take good care of her baby at first. We also see this in nature. The butterfly flaps its wings countless times to free itself from its cocoon, but if it does not come out, it does not give up and keeps flapping its wings. It gets stronger and stronger and flaps its wings even more. Finally, it punctures its cocoon.

Those who do not give up in the face of difficulties achieve the results they want.

If a person does not give up in the face of difficulties in life, he will eventually succeed like a butterfly. This not giving up makes him stronger. Just as the muscles of a person who continues to exercise even in the face of difficulties become stronger, the person who does not give up in the face of difficulties becomes stronger mentally and physically. Our attitude in the face of difficulties should be a smile, even if we are struggling.

When a person puts forward reasons and continues to work hard with determination and patience for what he wants to achieve in this life, he stops thinking about their goal along the way. He begins to enjoy the journey itself. The result loses its meaning. Whether he succeeds or fails, what he does is enough to make him happy.

Although Serap was demoralized, she did not want to give up. In fact, the diet was just an excuse to look elegant in a wedding dress. She wanted to say goodbye to the weight she had not been able to lose since childhood and she had a big goal in mind. Looking beautiful in her wedding dress and preparing to become a mother motivated her. 1 week… 4 weeks… then 3 months went by, she concentrated on what she had to do and never looked at the scale. No matter the cost, she enjoyed the process and saw how much her health had improved, even if she could not achieve the figure she wanted. She could breathe easier, she could walk up and down the stairs, she got up every morning and went for a walk, and she ate healthily. What could be more pleasant than this? Plus, she was slowly discovering ways to enjoy it and eat healthily at the same time... The road went on, and it was nice to be on the road...

Everything in life is difficult. From the moment we are born, to the last moment, we have difficulties in everyting we start doing. But as long as a person does not give up when he sees the difficulties at the beginning, every journey will end in a happy ending...
